The Story of 404Ware

Hey! We are Andi & Ben, a couple of creatives who have worked together for ten years, helping lots of Shopify store owners achieve their dreams, when we realised we had our own. 

As a couple of remote marketers, often sitting on Zooms and teams, nerdy and quirky at the same time, it struck us that there was never the perfect slogan. You can never find it. And then it struck us, like a Zoom call before the coffee hit. 

404Ware started with a gap. if you’ve ever trawled the internet looking for a decent T-shirt that doesn’t scream cheesy nonsense, trying too hard to be edgy or knock-off merch.

We kept seeing the same stuff. Safe designs, cheap prints and fast fashion with no feeling. And being creative types (one of us from Yorkshire, the other from Manchester), we high-fived across the Pennines and thought, "let's design our own" 

404Ware isn’t a brand that follows trends. It’s a corner of the internet for the stuff that doesn’t fit anywhere else, the nerdy among us, the sci-fi fans, the LEGO lovers, the neurodivergents like Andi, the idea scribbled on a napkin, the shirt that if you know you know. 

Every piece is premium quality, ethically sourced garments that wash well, wear well, and don’t fall apart after three spins in the drum. The artwork? Original, thoughtful, sometimes weird, sometimes beautiful. Always made by people, not bots. Every piece on here has been created by Andi's creative brain, whether digital or by hand. Oh, we are doing a collaboration or two as well. 

This all spun out from late nights and long chats between Founders Andi and Ben. We’ve worked together for years in digital marketing, building campaigns and solving problems. But behind all the spreadsheets and strategy was a shared love of the tactile stuff, art & design, colour and splash, jazzy notebooks, nerdy slogans. 

One day, that love turned into something more tangible. We joked about starting a shop. Then we started sketching. Then printing. And then people wanted the things we were making.

That’s how 404Ware was born, We love the name and the idea, and we hope you do too. 

It’s a nerdy nod to all the things that don’t exist yet. The stuff you go looking for but can’t find. And if you still can't find it, email us and we will try and create it and add it to our collection. 

Every design in the shop is something you won’t find anywhere else, simply because its been designed from scratch. It’s what happens when two people who love good design, good clothes and a bit of a challenge decide to do things their own way.

There isn’t one. Not really. It’s just us doing what we love! Making art, putting it on clothes and other stuff, and sharing it with people who get it. No pressure. No big brand story. Just good merch, made with care.
